Coliseum Announces Improvements in Anticipation of 2010 USC Football Home Season
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: JON LEE LOS ANGELES MEMORIAL COLISEUM COMPLETES Los Angeles, CA – With the coming USC Football season right around the corner, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum has completed a number of substantial improvements to the facility. Among the improvements: Football Field Fully Overhauled As the USC Trojan Football team takes the field on September 11th, they will be doing so on a brand new field. After starting the field replacement process by clearing out more than 107,000 square feet of turf, the field drain lines that run from north to south every 5 yards, as well as the storm drain lines located along the walls surrounding the field, were inspected and cleaned out. The entire field was then rotor-tilled to remedy undulations and turf compactions. In preparation for the brand new Bermuda “Bulls Eye” sod that was installed, the surface was then laser graded in order to insure that the crown of the field (the variation between the highest and lowest point) is consistent throughout the playing surface.
